Adoption Fees
All adoptable animals have been spayed/neutered, received age-appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested (when age-appropriate), microchipped, vet wellness checked, dewormed, and kept on monthly preventatives while in our care.
Adoption fees vary per dog.
Cat adoption fee is $125
*We believe fast kill heartworm treatment is the most effective treatment for heartworms.
If you are adopting a dog that has received this treatment an additional charge will be added for their ProHeart12 injection. This provides them with heartworm preventative for 1 year.
Please note that this is only a portion of their treatment cost.

You must be at least 19 years old to adopt and sign an adoption agreement.
If you have pets, they must be up to date on vaccines and on heartworm preventative.
HOA pet policies and vet records (if applicable) will be required
If you have previously submitted an application and everything has stayed the same, your application is still good, and there is no need to submit a new application.

What happens if I find a dog/cat I'm interested in adopting?
Fill out our adoption application and we will reach out once your application has been reviewed.
What kind of animals do you have in care?
Most of our adoptions are dogs, however, we occasionally take in cats and kittens.
Do you have a facility?
Currently, we are a foster-based rescue which means all of our animals are in foster homes. Once you have an approved application we will schedule a meet and greet.
How does Sweet Home acquire the animals available for adoption?
The majority of the animals we have in care come from overcrowded shelters. We do occasionally take in strays and owner surrenders.
